Staincoat

Staincoat® is SÖDAHL’s oil, water and soil-repellent surface treatment for home textiles.

This Is How The Staincoat® Textile Protection Works
Staincoat® binds itself to the fibres and creates an invisible, durable shield, which does neither affect the appearance nor the feel of the textiles, but offers an effective protection against dust and dirt - even against stubborn, greasy stains from butter or salad dressing etc.

As most fluids - even oil - will lie as drops on the surface, they may easily be soaked up from the treated textiles. Should a stain, however, penetrate into the fabric, the Staincoat® textile protection will make it easier to remove it again.

The surface treatment, Staincoat®, makes it possible to use the textiles several times before washing. This not only prolongs the life span of the products and protects the environment, but also saves time in connection with the washing.

To ensure that all SÖDAHL's Staincoat® treated products have an optimum protection, they are currently tested in our own laboratory.

Some stains containing colour, e.g. coffee, red wine and ketchup, can be difficult to remove. If chemical cleaning becomes necessary we recommend that you contact a professional dry-cleaning firm.

All SÖDAHL's table linen is treated with Staincoat® and may be washed approx. 15 times according to the prescribed care instructions before the protective effect is reduced. It is important that the textiles are ironed on the right side at 170-200°C after each washing in order to restore the Staincoat® effect.

How To Maintain Staincoat® Treated Home Textiles
Please follow the below-mentioned instructions to obtain the best possible results with your Staincoat® treated home textiles from SÖDAHL:

Remove loose dirt with a moist cloth.

Remove fluids right away - the longer dirt and stains are allowed to remain, the harder it will be to remove them.

Use a soaking cloth, some kitchen roll or a sponge to soak up stains or spilt fluids, but be careful not to rub the stain further into the fabric.

Remove butter, ketchup etc. with the point of a knife before wiping with a cloth or a napkin.

Carefully dab the tablecloth, as this will often remove all traces of spilt fluids.
